Online Therapy (Telehealth)

Therapy in the convenience of your home or office

Online therapy (also known as virtual therapy, teletherapy, or distance counseling) has been gaining popularity over recent years.  Research indicates that online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face counseling for treating many issues.

Distance therapy provides the added convenience of sparing you the commute across town, it heightens your level of privacy, and allows you to meet with a skilled professional even if you live in a remote location.  Teletherapy is the perfect solution for someone who has a busy life and needs flexibility and easy access to therapy.

What to Expect

Scheduling An Appointment

Select an online appointment with the therapist of your choice

After you have found a time, the system will reserve the same day and time for your recurring appointments, that way you have a guaranteed spot to meet with your therapist if you decide to continue.

Keep an eye out for your welcome materials

You can expect to receive three emails from us within 24-hours of scheduling your appointment. (Please expect a short delay if scheduling over the weekend.)

  1. A confirmation for the day and time of your scheduled session
  2. A welcome email with important information included (and a response required to confirm your appointment)
  3. An invitation to fill out some new client forms online

These welcome materials will contain the specific instructions for how to connect with your therapist online for your teletherapy appointment. If you do not receive these welcome materials or if you have questions about how to connect virtually, please contact us.

Getting Ready

Submit your required new client forms before the initial session

When your therapist has time to review your completed new client forms, it allows you to hit the ground running right away during the first session. Please make sure to complete all forms at least 24-hours before your first session, if possible.

All forms must be signed and returned before your therapist will be able to meet with you a second time.

Find a quiet, comfortable space where you'll be free from distractions (hopefully!)

While it may not always be possible, find a location at your home or office where you are unlikely to be disturbed during the time of your session. It can be so convenient to meet remotely, but it increases the likelihood of interruptions.

It’s especially important to ensure you have a private space where you and your therapist can talk and maintain your confidentiality.

Test your wifi-connection

Meeting for telehealth relies on the strength of your internet connection. This presents increased risks of poor connectivity or even dropped calls, which can be disruptive. We recommend hard-wiring your connection, if possible, or moving as close to your wireless router as you can. Your therapist will also address backup plans with you in the event you’re disconnected during a session.

Who Can I Meet With?

All members of our team are able to offer online therapy to all residents of the state of Oregon. (Including Bend, Cannon Beach, Hood River, Manzanita, Salem, Coos Bay, Eugene, Ashland, Newport, North Bend, Corvallis and Medford)

As long as you are in the state of Oregon during the time of your appointment and you have a good internet connection, we can come to you for teletherapy.

We also have limited options available for those who do not reside in the state of Oregon!
