Hello and welcome!
I help couples navigate the complexities of relationships with evidence-based protocols, primarily using the Gottman Method of couples therapy, to help partners regulate intense emotional responses, rebuild trust, improve communication, and develop deep friendships – all of which lead to increased passion and romance. I offer support through curiosity, non-judgment, and unconditional positive regard.
The Gottman Method offers over 50 years of research and evidence-based interventions for creating meaningful romantic relationships, and is widely considered the gold-standard for marriage and couples therapy. I have been educated on-site at the Gottman Institute, Level 3 trained, and a Bringing Baby Home class Educator.
Because an inability to regulate intense emotional reactivity is commonly a factor in relationship discord, I also am trained in HeartMath and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). This includes heart rate variability (HRV) training, helping couples and individuals build the capacity to regulate their own emotions, attitudes, and behaviors. HRV training also restructures neurological functioning for increased energy, resilience, and peace – even when discussing challenging topics.
Upon request, I offer a Christian-faith approach woven into the traditional Gottman therapy. Common concepts discussed include: harmful messaging from the Church, expectations of each partner, power differentials, challenges in intimacy, and recovering from the effects of purity culture – all through a scientific and faith-based lens.
